Bobinsana

Bobinsana
The water-loving Bobinsana at the Aguas Termales Reserve

Calliandra Angustufolia

Bobinsana (Calliandra Angustufolia) is a water-loving relative of the mimosa shrub with beautiful pink feathery flowers while in bloom. It can be found growing by streams in South American cloud forests. Bobinsana is well known for its magico-medicinal properties. The Shipibo-Conibo in the Ucayali area of Peru call the tree semein and prepare a bark tincture for rheumatism, arthritis, colds, uterine disorders, and edema (water retention). It is used as a stimulant, for colds, and importantly as a treatment for uterine cancer.

Bobinsana also possesses harmala alkaloids that can induce lucid and vivid dreams and enhance meditation, self awareness, and creativity.

Heart Healing and Compassion

In need of some heart healing? This plant is sought after for its ability to heal the trauma and loss of past relationships. A diet with Bobinsana has also been reported to increase empathy and connection and aid in emotional release. Stuck emotions can undermine the immune system and result in illness, physically and psychologically. Bobinsana supports the lungs and is a blood cleanser and anti-inflammatory. It acts directly on the nervous system, stabilizing the mind and body and aiding recovery of painful events.
